Ingredients
- 8 cups water
- 1 Tbsp. Chef Merito® Shrimp and Seafood Seasoning
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 2 lbs. raw Tiger shrimp (or other size; if frozen, do not defrost)
Preparation
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil.
- Add the shrimp and, before they come to a boil (or have turned pink), drain into a colander.
- Line a cookie sheet with several layers of paper towels. Place the drained shrimp on top and refrigerate.
Salsa Dip
Makes: 1 ½ cups
Ingredients:
- 1 cup mild salsa
- 4-5 Tbsp. horseradish, cream style
- 2 tsp. Chef Merito® Fajitas Seasoning
- 1 tsp. Chef Merito® Lemon Pepper Seasoning
- ½ tsp. sugar
- ½ tsp. minced garlic
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 1 avocado, cubed
Preparation:
- In a mixing bowl, add salsa and blend using a hand mixer or a blender.
- Add the remaining ingredients and stir together. Taste for seasoning and adjust to your liking.
- Serve the salsa with the cubed avocados and the shrimp mixed together. Serve in individual cups, glassware, or on a platter.
Chef Tip:
Shrimp should always be put into boiling water. As soon as they turn pink, they are ready.
