Mojo Criollo Turkey

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen or fresh turkey (15-20 lbs.)
  • 1 jar Chef Merito® Cornish Hen Seasoning
  • 1 bottle Chef Merito® Mojo Criollo
  • 1 bottle Chef Merito® Fajitas Marinade
  • 1 apple
  • 10 toothpicks

Preparation

  1. Defrost and clean the turkey according to packaging instructions. Rinse and dry with paper towels.
  2. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and make small cuts throughout the turkey with a knife.
  3. Sprinkle Chef Merito® Cornish Hen Seasoning to cover uniformly on the outside and inside of the turkey (you may use your hands to rub in the seasoning).
  4. Pour ½ of each bottle of Chef Merito® Mojo Criollo and Chef Merito® Fajitas Marinade all over the turkey (for more flavor, you may use more marinade).
  5. Place the apple inside the cavity of the turkey.
  6. Insert the toothpicks throughout the turkey and cover the turkey with aluminum foil in the pan.
  7. Place in the refrigerator for 4-5 hours or overnight for more flavor.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, place the covered turkey in the oven, and baste every ½ hour.
  9. Cook for approximately 4-5 hours, about 20 minutes per pound. Use the juices in the pan to serve with your sliced turkey.
