Carne Asada Fries

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lb. Skirt, Flank, or Loin Steak (or a combination)
  • 1 Tbsp. Chef Merito® Steak & Meat Seasoning
  • Vegetable Oil Spray

Oven Fries

  • 1 Tbsp. Olive Oil (or your preference)
  • 1 bag frozen french fries, prepared according to the manufacturer's instructions or
  • 3 medium-sized potatoes (like Russet), cut lengthwise into wedges

Preparation

  1. Preheat the broiler. Lightly spray a broiler pan and rack with vegetable oil spray.
  2. In a container, evenly sprinkle the Chef Merito® Steak & Meat Seasoning over the meat. Let it marinate for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Place the steaks on one side of the rack of the broiler pan.
  4. In a medium bowl, mix the potatoes with the olive oil. Arrange the potatoes on the other side of the broiler pan.
  5. Broil both the steaks and potatoes for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the steaks are medium rare to well done and the potatoes are tender, turning the steaks and potatoes once during cooking.
  6. Cut the steaks into small strips and serve over the potatoes on a small plate or bowl. Use approximately 3-4 oz. of steak with 3-5 oz. of potatoes.
  7. Garnish with chopped onions, tomatoes, jalapeño peppers, and sour cream.

*You may also grill or fry the steaks and use frozen potatoes instead. Serve warm.
