Ingredients
- 3 lbs. Pork Shoulder
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 garlic bulb
- 1 Tbsp. ground cumin
- 3 tsp. Chef Merito® Pork Chop Seasoning
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 lb. lard
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup cola (Coca-Cola or your choice)
- 3 oz. condensed milk
- 1 white onion, chopped
- 2/3 cup cilantro, chopped
Garnish
- ½ cup green sauce or red sauce
- Sprinkle of cotija cheese or cheese of your choice
Preparation
- In a large pot over high heat, add lard and let it heat up for 10 minutes.
- Add the pork to the pot and fry for 10 minutes at medium-low heat.
- Add two cups of water, garlic bulb, ground cumin, bay leaves, Chef Merito® Pork Chop Seasoning, and the sliced orange. Stir every few minutes.
- Let it cook for 1 hour, then add the cola.
- After cooking for another hour, add the condensed milk and cook for an additional 30 minutes.
- Spoon the meat onto warm tortillas and top with your choice of garnish.
